Founding Generalist – Gravadee (Equity-Only)
Rental housing is broken. We're fixing the part everyone else ignores.
Gravadee is building portable, renter-owned verification credentials — the URA (Universal Rental Application) and Rental Resume — so renters verify once and apply anywhere, and landlords stop paying $3,800+ per vacancy sifting through AI-generated fake pay stubs. We sit upstream of Zillow, Apartments.com, and every screening incumbent. They can't build what we're building without cannibalizing themselves. We can.
We're two founders (Apple/EA product veteran + two-exit operator/VC) with a live paid pilot, a working product on modern AI-native tooling, and a compliance-first architecture that's our moat. We need a third person crazy enough to join before the money does.
The Role (a.k.a. Everything)
This is not a job. It's a founding seat. One week you're vibe-coding a feature in Lovable/Supabase; the next you're interviewing renters in a Mission coffee shop, running cold outreach, presenting to a landlord association, wrangling a spreadsheet, or fixing whatever broke at 9pm. If "that's not my job" is in your vocabulary, stop reading — no hard feelings.
You'll touch:
-
Product: building and shipping across the URA, Rental Resume, LLAI, and whatever comes next
-
Growth: email, cold outreach, renter/landlord interviews, seminars and group presentations
-
Operations: the unglamorous glue — process, light accounting, small tasks that keep a startup alive
You
-
Self-starter is non-negotiable. You take a task from ambiguous idea to done, without check-ins, hand-holding, or a Jira ticket telling you to breathe.
-
You can vibe-code. You don't need a CS degree; you need to ship working things with AI tools and not be precious about it.
-
Strong, genuine interest in AI — you use it daily and think about where it's going.
-
You find rental housing genuinely interesting. (Yes, such people exist. We checked. We are them.)
-
Ideally Bay Area, and up for regular in-person work sessions. Whiteboards beat Zoom.
-
You commit. Startups reward the people still standing at month nine, not month two.
Compensation
Zero salary until we're funded. Equity only, earned against real contributions and milestones — not tenure, not vibes. We'll be transparent about the structure up front. If you need a paycheck now, this isn't it. If you want meaningful ownership in something you helped build from the studs, keep going.
Why Bother
-
Ground-floor equity in a company attacking a $3,800-per-vacancy problem across ~14M self-managed rental units nationally
-
Founders who've shipped at Apple, EA, and Comcast and exited companies — you'll learn fast or we're doing it wrong
-
Real ownership: your work, start to finish, with your name on it
-
A parrot named Reo will judge your work. She's fair but firm.
Apply
Send a short note: who you are, something you've built or shipped (AI-assisted counts), and why rental housing of all things. No resumes required. No cover-letter theater. Just show us you're the person who finishes things.
